BreezeIQ privacy policy
Last updated 15 October 2026
BreezeIQ is a Shopify app from Breeze, operated by Juspay Technologies Pvt Ltd (“we”, “us”). It sends a store’s storefront activity, customers and orders to the Breeze customer data platform (CDP) so the merchant can understand and reach their shoppers. This policy explains what the app collects, why, and how it is deleted.
Who this applies to
Merchants who install BreezeIQ, and shoppers who visit or buy from those stores. For shoppers, the merchant decides how their store’s data is used; we process it on the merchant’s behalf. Shoppers should also read the store’s own privacy policy.
What we collect
From the merchant
- The store’s Shopify domain and an access token Shopify issues when the app is installed.
- The app’s setup state, for example whether tracking and the theme embed are turned on.
The BreezeIQ web pixel receives Shopify’s standard storefront and checkout events: pages and products viewed, searches, cart changes and checkout steps. With each event it sends a random page, and the shopper’s consent choices. The pixel removes email, phone numbers, names and street address lines from checkout events before sending them.
From Shopify, on the server
Through Shopify webhooks and, when the merchant starts it, a one-time history import, we receive the store’s customers, orders and checkouts. These include the shopper’s email and phone number, Shopify customer ID, marketing consent, the items bought and order totals, and the device ID saved on the cart.
How we use it
- To build a profile of each shopper in the merchant’s own CDP workspace, linking their visits to their orders.
- To show the merchant shopper activity and metrics inside the app.
- To run the app: installing the pixel, checking setup and answering privacy requests.
We do not sell personal data and do not use one merchant’s data for another merchant. The pixel is declared to Shopify as analytics only; the consent recorded with each event is checked before the data is used for marketing.
Where it goes and how it is protected
- Data is sent over HTTPS to Breeze’s event collector (
api.breeze.in) and stored in the Breeze CDP. - Email addresses and phone numbers are encrypted when they arrive, and matched using keyed hashes rather than plain text.
- App data (sessions, setup state, the privacy request log) is stored in the app’s own database.
- Network traffic to the app passes through Cloudflare.
How long we keep it
- Shopper data is kept in the merchant’s CDP workspace while the merchant uses BreezeIQ.
- When a store uninstalls the app, its session and setup are deleted straight away. 48 hours later Shopify sends a shop deletion request, and we delete the store’s remaining app data and the CDP workspace created for it.
- Privacy request records keep only the request’s outcome; the shopper’s email and phone are removed from them once the request is complete.
Shoppers’ rights
Shoppers can ask the store for a copy of their data or for it to be erased. Shopify passes these requests to us. For a copy, we prepare the shopper’s CDP profile for the store owner to download and send on. For erasure, we delete the shopper’s CDP profile. Both are completed within the 30 days Shopify requires. Shoppers can also contact us directly at [email protected].
Changes
We will update this page when what the app collects changes, and change the date above.
